What I would like to see is Inter-Client mediation of focus be done by the window manager (so the user has the choice of sticky vs real estate) but when a particular client has the focus it is up to that client to determine which of its widgets is getting the focus and the Intrinsics should assist in that function. In other words there should be two levels of focus management going on. Is anyone in the consortium thinking along these lines, will this be possible in R3. A more serious question regarding the form and paned widget and any other custom widgets I write is: how obsolete will they become when R3 is released, can you state now what will happen to the Xt or the Xaw layers. I am already planning to lose a little time converting to R3, I am wondering now how much developement to postpone until after R3 arrives. -- pal@calmasd.GE.COM or ...!sdcsvax!calmasd!pal
