[comp.windows.x] xfig hates color!

dlw@hpsmtc1.HP.COM (David Williams) (08/23/88)

Hello out there!

Just to let you know we've been trying with various degrees of success to
compile and run xfig. It appears to be geared towards monochrome monitors and
since we have a higher percentage of color monitors it bombs left and right..
due to assumptions about pixel depth (I think I have that right). If anyone
else manages to get this baby running on a color system let me know, it sure
sounds like a neat program.

Yep.

I have patched xfig to work on my QDSS, and as an added bonus, you get
reverse video support.

There are still a couple problems with ruler arrow colors, but that's
minor compared to what used to be there.
This support implicitly assumes a PseudoColor Visual type, but that may
be fixed someday too....

Anonymous ftp only (sorry, uucp land) to LYCUS.MIT.EDU, and pick up
~ftp/pub/xfig.tar.Z (compressed BSD tar). [lycus is 18.72.0.141]
