I am system administrator for a number of small Unix (Xenix) sytems. Some applications in which I am interested are available for MAC and MS-DOS, and are now being ported to X. I would like to keep from buying Macs and more DOS machines because of the advantages we have with small departmental Unix boxes. I need to evaluate the benefits of X on Unix vs. (PC's | Mac). Is there some good printed information on X available for the likes of me (a non-hard-core programmer), but technical enough so that I can make an informed decision on which way to go with some of our graphics? I'd rather have it too technical than oversimplified. Thanks in advance. Mark T. Dornfeld Royal Ontario Museum 100 Queens Park Toronto, Ontario, CANADA M5S 2C6 mark@utgpu!rom - or - romwa@utgpu
