If sites are going to start automatically re-routing mail from the original "designated" destinations, I think we'd better come up with a header line that explains this. Simply sending off mail through the "best" path, but leaving the original To: line intact, can greatly confuse people who RECEIVE that message, and doesn't help to optimize replies in any case. --Lauren-- P.S. I wonder if re-routing is really safe. Can we always assume that we know more about the paths than the person sending the message? Perhaps the person was trying to avoid a route that was uni-directional or very slow (due to infrequent polling) at a particular link. Sometimes it is obvious when people are using non-optimal routes, but we shouldn't jump to conclusions... --LW--
