After having used them for a week or so, I am very happy about them. The second volume is worth the price of the whole thing. Looking up things is VERY easy and so far it has definitely helped speed me up. The "old" MIT manuals were very difficult to handle, I'd break them all the time, and the Index was practically destroyed after one week of use. I used volume 1 sparingly, but so far I had no problem finding out responses to my questions, while finding things in the MIT docs was very difficult. I guess the cross indexing is the thing that really helps. The volumes are big, but easy to handle and so far they are sturdy enough. All in all I am satisfied, so we'l send in the $20 and the fron page of the "preliminary" manual we bought at MIT's Devcon to get our second copy. Right now, the O'reilly books are the only way to go for X development. The back cover mentions that 2 more volumes are expected (one devoted to the toolkit).
