Hi There, This is a beginners query from someone whose exposure to X was some time back on a GPX. At the time, I just did enough to get my thesis done and I haven't kept up with developments in X. Firstly I'd like to know if it is at all possible to have an X system going on a COMPAQ 386/25 running SCO XENIX? If so, what kind of graphics support do I need (i.e. will EGA/VGA suffice - I wonder what they are going to do when they get to ZGA). If the regular PC options are out, then what kind of hardware do I need? I am interested mainly in a monochrome display with at least 64 grey scales. Colour would be nice but I don't think we could handle the expense. Any and all responses would be appreciated. Please note that if you are applying by e-mail, then use my address below. We don't have news on that system, but mail works fine. adTHANKSvance Pavneet Arora ....!utgpu!rom!pavneet Royal Ontario Museum 100 Queen's Park Toronto, Ontario M5S 2C6 (416) 586-5626
