I am looking for information on the requirements on doing the select system call under System V.3 in order to support X. Has anyone done it cleanly? What are the pitfalls? Does it need to be implemented at the system level, or can you just do it at the net communication level. Can it be done to handle both stream devices and non stream devices ?
