Has anyone out there built a Presentation Manager API on top of X or the X Toolkit? What about a set of X Toolkit widgets that emulates the PM look-and-feel? Does anyone even have plans to do this? Have you heard of anyone who has? Has Microsoft made any statements about this? Have you ever in your entire life ever seen so many consecutive sentences ending in question marks?

Has anyone out there built a Presentation Manager API on top of X or the X Toolkit? What about a set of X Toolkit widgets that emulates the PM look-and-feel? Last week at the Sybase Users Group Meeting in Berkeley, Bill Gates (so it's straight from the horse's mouth :-) said that Microsoft/HP "have implemented" (which I guess mean "coming to a machine near you") what they call PMX, which is the Presentation Manager for Unix, built as an X Toolkit (not sure if the `X' is for `Unix' or `X' ;-). No idea when you can buy it (I asked him later, he said "Dunno, I mean, it's gonna be a product, and it's done") or how much it will cost, but it sounds like exactly what you are looking for. /jordan
