I don't know that this is the correct forum to mention this, but it seems the closest.. We recently got a DECwindows release tape and X server stuff from Digital. Upon running my software we encountered a big problem with the server (also w/ my logic being incomplete..). If you first map a window, you can then render into it before the map has completed. This generates very nice sets of your rendered logic against the root window. It doesn't suppress output to the as yet unmapped window. Such is life. On a like issue, we have a really annoying problem here with the InterViews portion of the code that we are using. It also allows the drawing of graphics/text to the root window after the window has been iconified. This is pretty repeatable, and a lot of people have tried to track this down and get rid of it. The window seems to be in an IsUnviewable state, or something such as this. It still renders the asked stuff to the backdrop window. Anyone else see this type of behavior with their code?? Any suggestions? -Jim Becker
