I am a novice X programmer. I started reading this news group well before doing any programming to see if I could learn more about what people were doing with X and how they were implementing their applications. Now that I am really programming, I would like to know more "secrets", the little bits of information that a good X programmer uses everyday. These secrets would include bugs, workarounds, nifty tricks, shortcuts, optimizations, best solutions, etc. Has anyone been keeping such a list of secrets? I often see solutions to programming problems posted here - is there a record or journal of common problems people have come across? If there is not such a journal, I'd like to call for secrets. If you mail me your journal I will gladly combine them all and post the list here. I think that many people are in the same position I am - perhaps this list of secrets can help.
