linton@INTERVIEWS.STANFORD.EDU (Mark Linton) (11/08/88)
In reference to Jim Becker's comments (from Athena Systems, Inc.),
I would like to point out that the following mailing lists are available
for discussing InterViews and general C++ toolkit issues:
interviews@lurch.stanford.edu
General mailing list for questions, comments, and discussion
about InterViews and related matters.
interviews-requests@lurch.stanford.edu
Send requests to be added or removed from a mailing list
to this alias.
interviews-announce@lurch.stanford.edu
The list to which I send announcements of new releases.
interviews-bugs@lurch.stanford.edu
Where to report problems. I will try to keep the interviews
mailing up-to-date on problems and fixes/workarounds.
Because I do not read xpert, I would ask that issues and comments
relating to InterViews be discussed on our general mailing list
rather than xpert.
As to Becker's specific gripes, I need more information on what problems
caused his company to give up on InterViews. Certainly, if he does not
want to use C++ then he should not use InterViews.
I know that his company started with a very old version (2.1 compared
with 2.4 now) and I don't know that they upgraded. His company's
experience is certainly unusual from our perspective; we have gotten
very positive feedback on InterViews.
In any event, if there is further discussion, please use
interviews@lurch.stanford.edu.
