[comp.windows.x] MATLAB under X

Hey, does anybody at MathSoft read this list? If so when will you have a
real Xwindows MATLAB window (someone at MathSoft told me it was in the works,
but I've heard nothing more). MATLAB currently runs its plots in the xterm Tek
emulator window, and it has a few flaws on my machine (VAXstation with
Ultrix). In particular the invisible plot lines don't erase previously
drawn lines (which is useful on the PC version) and if you CTRL-C you can
hang up the plotting interface completly (you get a floating point
exception if you try to clear or write to the graph).

Has anyone sought/found a cure to the MATLAB plotting window under X ills?

                                                      Rob.

I talked with a rep from the MATH WORKS Inc. at Scientific and Computing
& Automation conf. in Phil. on 10/25/88. He claimed they had just hired
an individual to work on a port to X11 (but it was to only occupy about
half his time!). My impression was they were more concerned wiht their PC
and MAC versions, which currently outsells the SUN version by many times.

As far as running MATLAB using xterm, We've had not problems on using
out SUNs. Remember the xterm TEK ios emulating a STORAGE graphics
terminal ...hence no erasure of individual lines or points. We have
not experienced hang up wiht CTRL-C, however the program fails to
switch from the TEK window back to the VT window under these conditions.
