Currently we are struggling to determine an appropriate interim standard for intrinsics based widget libraries until Core Components becomes available around mid-1989. I would be interested in the progress of anyone doing similar work. If anyone can comment on the work currently in progress by the Core Component committee at MIT, it could be useful in keeping everyone on a similar track. If anyone can comment on the work currently in progress by the Core Component committee at MIT, it could be useful in keeping everyone on a similar track. I don't have anything very specific to say right now. The CC effort is in full swing, and I'm very encouraged by the level of participation by the various members of the X Consortium. Responses to the current CC draft have generated a large number of small issues and a small number of large issues. I think most of these issues are resolvable, and the participants seem committed to achieving resolution. But, I would say it's still early to be able to predict a firm schedule.
