M.I.T. supplied us with some information about the X Window System. The information included a document (nov 5, 1988) with the "Questions and Answers" most frequently asked about the X Window System. One of the questions was: What operating systems does it run on? The answer: 4.3 BSD, DEC Ultrix 2.0 and later, IBM ACIS 4.3, Sun 3.2 and later, Apollo SR9.5 and later, HP-UX 6.01, and MAC II A/UX. This distribution requires some work to run under System V. M.I.T. does not supply any System V specific materials. We use Unix System V.3. I would like to know if anybody ported X Window System version 11 release 2 or release 3 to Unix System V.3 (names & prices). Marian,
Although I don't know the price (sorry), AT&T has an X window product for
SYSVR3 called Xwin 1.?. It runs on a 386 micro, and currently supports
the CGA and EGA video adapter for the console.
