There is a small group of individuals here (CSRI, DCS, and EECG at UofToronto) working on speeding up the X.V11R3 server. We are interested in contacting others actively working on the server in order to avoid duplication of effort. So far we have been lucky, but... Our efforts here are largely focused on the Sun-3 server, but some of the changes are applicable to other platforms. At this point we are only interested in contacting those who are also making changes to the server. We will release the changes that we have made as soon as we feel that they are well tested and stable. Jeff Lee (jonah@db.toronto.edu or jonah@db.utoronto.ca)

There has been a bit of traffic on the net lately on optimizing the server, we are very interested in this (we've already done a good bit of work) and if there is not already one, would be willing to host a mail-list on the subject. comments??? -- If the Nazi's had television with satellite technology, we'd all be goose-stepping. Americans are just as suggestible. - Frank Zappa ...{decwrl|ucbvax}!imagen!atari!daisy!turner (James M. Turner)

The world doesn't yet yet-another-X-mailing-list. I know, we've created far too many of them for which the only traffic is add/delete requests. Keep the discussion on xpert, at least for now.
