If anyone knows about a package for Unix or Xenix similar in nature to Microsoft Windows, please post or e-mail. I would like to hae a Windows type of an operating environment on my 286 machine running 2.3 Microport Unix w/Dos Merge. Any helpfull hints or suggestions will be greately appreciated. I run IBM Xenix V on an AT. It is configured into the kernel and provides multiple, simultaneously displayed windows on the console. Each window can be the size of the screen or smaller. The windows can remain in the background undisplayed or be floated to the foreground. Each window is in the device directory and is thus treated just like a terminal. Processes can be running in each window and each process believes it controls an entire terminal. I am extremely impressed with its performance and features.
