I'm having a problem with X.V11.R2 running over Ethernet on Suns. My monochrome 3/60 is sending some 40 packets/sec to it's server (a Sun4) which is jamming the Ethernet. All I had running at the time was a console, an xterm and gmacs under another xterm. I don't know enough about X to locate the problem or to describe the situation properly. (I was the one that compiled X so there's no one else to blame.) Is there anyone out there that can explain what might be causing this and/or suggest a cure? I don't want to go back to using sunview. Thanks in advance Mark In Reality: msw@cpsc.UCalgary.CA or atai!calgary!msw

This speed can cause it to consume the traffic bandwidth on Ethernet and noone else can get in. That may be the situation you are running into. As far as fixes, I don't know enough about the mechanics to suggest/offer one. > Mark > > In Reality: msw@cpsc.UCalgary.CA or atai!calgary!msw -Jim Becker
