When applying fix4, most of the rejected chunks are to the XConsortium: or rcs_id[] version control lines in various parts of xterm, which are easily enough hand-applied. But fix[567] produced an assortment of 11 files of rejects in the middles of many parts of xman, and the patches that succeeded were often offset by some large number of lines, one way or the other. I feel very, very unconfident in the quality of the files I've got left, and hand-patching would be a nightmare. Could you please put complete fresh distributions of xterm and xman, at their current patch and revision control levels, on expo so that we know we've got the Right Stuff? Thanks very much.

Did you use the new fix4? I just applied the xterm fixes from fix1, fix2, and the new fix4 to an R3 xterm. The file main.c has a minor problem with the XConsortium RCS header which has actually been there since fix1. The file xterm.man had a redundant patch because of an RCS rev name glitch. The patch about which it complains can be ignored. If you have additional problems, send me a log file through personal email. I just applied fixes 5-7 to a pure R3 xman and got no rejected files. Please send a log of the problems through personal email to kit@athena.mit.edu. Jim Fulton MIT X Consortium jim@expo.lcs.mit.edu
