[comp.windows.x] Problems on VS200

I have been having troubles getting the X11R3 server to work on a
color VAXstation 2000. we are running Ultrix 3.0FT. When I try to test the
server using xinit I get the following error messages:

wupita # xinit -- Xqdss
XIO: fatal IO error 32 (Broken pipe) on X server ""
after 0 requests (0 known processed) with 0 events remaining.
The connection was probably broken by a server shutdown or KillClient.
wupita # xinit xterm -- Xqdss :0
giving up.
xinit: Connection refused (errno 61): unable to connect to X server

xinit: Connection refused (errno 61): unable to connect to X server

I have tried recompiling it on this machine (it was originally compiled on a
VS3200 where it works fine). I have also tried the new sg.o that was
mentioned earlier to be a fix for Ultrix 2.2, but when I rebuilt the kernel,
the boot would fail.

Any help with this problem would be greatly appreciated.

did you have X10r4 before? If so recompile your kernal with the
configuration options dealing with "XOS" deleted from the kernal
configuration file. This fixed X11r3 on my VAXstation 2000's under
Ultrix 2.2
