I am working on an X server that runs on MS-DOS and have run into a problem related to the debut of ink metrics in R3. The problem is, when xterm gets the focus and changes his cursor from the hollow box to the solid block, the right side (2 pixels wide) of the hollow box is left on the screen. This happens if I use the 6x13 font from R3 that has ink metrics. If I use the 6x13 font from R2 everything works fine. With the R3 font, the hollow box gets drawn two pixels to the right of where it gets drawn when using the R2 font. What I do not know is what's broken. Is it xterm's fault, my server's fault, a problem with the ink metrics in the 6x13 font, or something else? Is there one or more of the new fonts that would cure the problem?

[Locus: I sure wish you'd get your mailer maintainer to generate a reasonable return path.] Is it xterm's fault, my server's fault, a problem with the ink metrics in the 6x13 font, or something else? Sure sounds like you are running an R2 xterm. An R3 xterm should work just fine.
