[net.news] Signatures and addresses

I just caught up on net.news, forgive the lateness of this response.
I know, it's a pain if the address is forever. BUT!!!!
What really turns my screw is the fact that some people don't put
any address at all on their articles/mail. About 8 months ago, we were
trying to get the source to rogue. Well, this very nice person wrote
me that he had it, would send it to me, all I had to do was write him
and tell him where to send it to. Well, he hadn't put an address after
his signature and the header had been trashed. I never did get hold of
him. David, headers get trashed an awful lot. Unfortunately. If an address
isn't included, there is no way to be sure the correct address is in
the header. Also, if you want to know what part of the world an article
came from, just find the machine in the files that come off of net.news.map.
Gene, your address *is* fairly long... How about creating, say,
a couple of '.' files, one for Inter, one for uucp, one for whatever.
Then, instead of using .signature, just read in one of those files when
you finish editing the article you're about to send. That way, your address
is simpler, shorter, and less likely to confuse.
