[comp.windows.x] X Conference Question

twolf@homxb.ATT.COM (T.WOLF) (01/17/89)

I'm semi-new to this conference. I also have never had a chance to attend
an X Conference, so here are some semi-naive questions :-)

I know there was an X-Conference held at MIT last fall. This was a three-day
affair (if I remember correctly). Is the upcoming event of the same nature
and is it held in Boston? Also, when will be the next one? It seems awfully
late for me to register (with all you folks out there still looking for
leftover registrations :-) If this Conference is the same as last fall, it
seems like its going to be a semi-anual sort of thing?

Thanks for any info.

Xhibition (which was held in August) is not the same as the
X Technical Conference; they are run by different organizations.

Also, when will be the next one?

The X Technical Conference is annual. Others can tell you when
the Xhibition will be.

Yup, too late.

Almost. Integrated Computer Solutions and the X Users Group sponsored a
conference and vendor show which they called Xhibition. The event happening
next week is the 3rd Annual X Technical Conference, sponsored by MIT. It does
*not* have a trade show and focuses more on cutting edge work in X rather than
on end-user training or product development.

Although both conferences are held once a year, Xhibition will be moving to
different cities (it will be on the west coast this year; contact ICS for
more information).

Too late, in fact. Sorry.

How do I get in contact with ICS and, more importantly, what is ICS? (Yes,
my ignorance is as vast as the Mongolian Steppes...hm, bit dramatic? :-)

Thanks again for the info,
