Can someone point me to a Reference book on XProtocol packet format? Also, I would like to find out for which network protocols X has been implemented. So far, I've seen TCP/IP, DECNet, and SLIP (Serial IP I assume). What others exist? Are there X implementations for X.25 (or other ISO-type protocols), for example? Any info would be appreciated.

Can someone point me to a Reference book on XProtocol packet format? If you really want a "book", get the Digital Press book, "X Window System: C Library and Protocol Reference". If you want essentially equivalent source, look in the source documention in the MIT R3 distribution. So far, I've seen TCP/IP, DECNet, and SLIP (Serial IP I assume). What others exist? CHAOS. I'm not aware of X.25 or OSI implementations.
