[comp.windows.x] Setting cursors in clients that don't

dce@stan.UUCP (David Elliott) (01/30/89)

A number of applications want to use my root window cursor instead of
forcing one upon me. While this is nice, I don't always have a good
cursor for this.

Sometimes my cursor is too big, and sometimes it is masked tightly for
a black background. When this happens, programs like xcalendar and
xclipboard are a pain to use.

So, my question is: Can I define a cursor on a per-application
basis without modifying the application?

Only if the application is designed to allow it. Most aren't.
