How well do clients built with the R3 versions of Xlib, etc. work
with R2 versions of the server?

Our R3 clients work as well on R2 servers as our R2 clients (that
means ok :-).  We have been in that condition for a month with no ill
effects.

One cannot deny the need for work on font stuff once the R3 server
gets running.
