[comp.windows.x] Resizing Widgets and Raw Windows

totty@m.cs.uiuc.edu (02/03/89)

This is probably a common question so I apologize
	now for boring you :-)

	(1) How can I override resize requests when using Widgets?
When I resize a window using my window manager I can't
seem to get control. I want to specify some minimum
sizes and "snap" the window to certain sizes. I tried
to use the resize() and set_values() widget routines
but these don't seem to work. Modifying the core width
and height in the widget in resize() seems to have no effect
and the window manager resizing my widget doesn't seem to call
set_values(). What is the proper way to do this type of
	snapping function?

	(2) For that matter, how do I do it with raw Xlib windows?
If I get a resize_redirect event, how can I change the window
to be the size I want?

					Thanks,
