[comp.windows.x] Has anyone compiled Xhp with gcc successfully?

andre@ducat.caltech.edu (Andre Burgoyne) (02/07/89)

We are using hp9000/350's running HPUX 6.01. I would like to compile
Xhp (X11R3) using gcc. I tried gcc 1.32 which compiled it into
nice, small code, but which failed to run. gcc 1.33 can't even compile
itself on hp's, so no luck there. Is there a previous version of
gcc which actually compiles Xhp correctly?

Thanks in advance,

Andre' Burgoyne

We built that code on HP9000/300 series machines running HP-UX 6.
However, we don't use gcc. Do you have cc?

Also, please keep in mind that the Xhp widgets on the R3 tape run on R2
intrinsics -- the intrinsics provided with Xhp have the neccessary R2
bug fixes.
