Hi, I have just installed X11R3 on a Sun 3/280, to be run from a number of diskless Sun 3/60 workstations. We are running SunOS 4.0.1, and I have not yet applied any of the X patches. I have two questions: I specified UseSunWindowsInServer in my imake Sun.macros. This works, but the interaction is not very smooth. For example, pulling down a menu (from uwm) which obscures part of a SunView tool works, but when an item is selected, the background is re-displayed instead of the suntool. I can live with this, but would like to hear if anybody has made an effort to clean up this interaction. I would like to use gcc, in an effort to improve performance (which is not bad, but the faster the better). It seems that gcc picks the wrong "SIZEOF(x)" macro in Xmd.h, causing the make to fail. Before I go changing the X source, I would like to hear from anyone who encountered this problem when converting to gcc. Thanks, Richard
