Well, I've read about the x-windows emulators from Apple and White Pine, but both seem to rely on Ethernet or Localtalk. Here's my situation: I'm writing this on a 2-meg Mac II, 40 meg apple HD and basic color. It's hooked through a vt100 emulator to jarthur, Mudd's Sequent Symmetry S81 running Dynix, the multitasking form of Unix. Anyway, we're connected at 19200 baud via fiber-optic line and terminal servers, and I'd like to get x-windows running through that connection. Does anyone know of such a beast? 19200 seems fast enough for x-windows, but maybe something else makes this impossible. Apple? White Pine? Anybody? thanks, tad -- W "Ada combines the flexibility of assembly language with the power of Logo" S I e-mail and random flames to: T B mblakele@jarthur.claremont.edu or uunet!muddcs!jarthur!mblakele R West is Best, And Newsh is Swell.
