[comp.windows.x] gatekeeper/decwrl archive rearranged

vixie@decwrl.dec.com (Paul A Vixie) (02/27/89)

gatekeeper.dec.com (128.45.9.52) has lots of goodies available for anonymous
FTP, and I've just moved it all around to get it to make more sense. Our
UUCP machine, decwrl, has this same hierarchy available as ~uucp. Therefore
if you can get to something via FTP in /pub, you can also get to it over UUCP
in decwrl!~/pub. We do not have anonymous UUCP and we do not take on new
UUCP neighbors for the purpose of accessing our archives; this is a conven-
ience to our UUCP neighbors, of which there are lots and lots and lots.

A quick tour of what we have available...

ls-lR.Z this is built hourly and contains an "ls -lR", compressed,
of this entire hierarchy. If you are wondering whether we
have something, this is the file you want to get first.
maps/ postscript maps of Usenet
recipes/	alt.gourmand archives
pub/... everything else:
pub/GNU/	latest or near-latest GNU stuff (ghostscript-1.2 is here!)
pub/UCB/	sendmail 5.61 with and without IDA, and 4.3-tahoe IP/TCP code
pub/X11/PEX/	latest or near-latest PEX spec
pub/X11/contrib/ bits and pieces from all over, including expo's /contrib
pub/X11/R3/...	just like expo's /pub/R3 and mordred's /pub/X11/Release3
pub/ds3100*	DECstation 3100 (MIPS R2000) performance and techie info (PD)
pub/lwall/	latest or near-latest patch, perl, and dist
pub/stdwin/	gvr@cwi's stdwin package

Grab the ls-lR.Z file for a complete list. The above is only a roadmap.
