Does XDrawPoint use the line-width component of the GC?

The manual doesn't say anything about the line-width being
used for XDrawPoint.

How would one draw an arbitrary shape with a thick line 
on-the-fly without having to store the points in an XPoint structure
and using XDrawLines?
