You may notice that the initial uwm flashing rectangle that indicates the size of the likely window is wrong. In fact an awful lot of X applications don't seem to bother calculating the size of their window before they open it. (e.g. bitmap, xfd etc.). The fix has to be to fix xterm. I looked at it for a while but at that time (r2) it was like trying to take one piece of spaghetti out of a plateful and thread it back without disturbing the rest. I gave up because I didn't have time. I'd hoped it would be fixed in r3. - Paul.
