We are running X11R3 (patches 1-8, no purdue, no gcc) and twm (version 3, taken from X11R2). Hardware is Sun 3/60 under SunOS 4.0. The configuration file ".twmrc" contains menus associated with the root window and with title bars. "f.iconify" has been included as an option in both cases. When this option is chosen from the root menu, everything works fine (that is, the subsequently selected window iconifies as expected). When chosen from the frame menu, the window appears to iconify, but then disappears from the screen altogether. The client continues to run until output is sent to the screen, at which time it dies painfully. The most dramatic example is xclock, which dies immediately while updating the second hand. If anyone has seen this and can help, I would like to hear from you. It may be a simple mismatch between the R2 window manager and R3 clients, or it may be a stupid mistake on my part. By the way, this same behavior is also seen when the "close" button in the title bar is pressed (in windows with title bars). Some day I will learn to read the documentation before opening my mouth... If anyone has fixed this *known bug*, please let me know.

The latest version is 5.1 or version 1.2 from X11R3. -- Tom LaStrange Hewlett Packard Co. ARPA: toml%hpfcla@hplabs.hp.com Graphics Technology Division UUCP: hplabs!hpfcla!toml Fort Collins, CO
