I know this is probably a simplistic question, but i'm hoping someone will know the simple answer. :) We, my working group, are currently prototyping in SunView (language: Ada) but will be upgrading to OpenWindows when it comes out. We've done comparisons before between X and SunView and found that SunView seemed faster (i.e. processing, screen refreshes for graphics, data manipulation,...) What concerns us is that OpenWindows uses the X11 server, and we don't want to lose our current speed capabilities. We've also been told that Xwidgets would be comparable to SunView in speed. So my question is, even tho I've been told that OpenWindow doesn't rely on widget objects (no dependence) could it make use of XIntrinsics so we could utilize Xwidgets. Would this roundabout way still be fast? Comments (please e-mail direct if possible, to avoid clogging the net) are definitely sought and welcomed. thanks cynthia anderson Naval Ocean System Center San Diego, CA 92152 (619) 553-2338 <cynthia@cod.nosc.mil> Disclaimer: "i don't need one, my bosses WANT to know this stuff!"
