I've recently brought up X11.3 (through patch 9 with purdue2). Everything looks good except for X10 text (xterm, emacs) when run via x10tox11. The horizontal character spacing is consistently half what it should be, and the window is half the expected width. Runs of characters are printed at the usual spacing but go off the right hand side of the window; single characters (i.e. input to the shell) tend to come out with each new character half-overlapping the old. I'm running this on a Sun 3/60 and Sun 3/260 (bwtwo0), SunOS 3.5, under either cc -O or gcc (release 1.34) as recommended by Purdue. Any suggestions would be most welcome, as I want to purge out the X10 users and free up the disk space. Please mail, even if you think it's also of sufficient interest for xpert readers.
