I am new to the X world so please bear with me. I am using X11R3 on a Sun4 running SunOS 4. My display is an IBM RT. I recently acquired xappt and xnews - they were compiled on a Sun4 running OS4. When I use xappt, it does not display and it gives me this error : X Protocol error: BadName, named color or font does not exist Major opcode of failed request: 45 (X_OpenFont) Minor opcode of failed request: 0 Resource id in failed request: 0x1300027 Serial number of failed request: 75 Current serial number in output stream: 94 When I ran it on a Sun bw display, it worked fine except that it would consider all my appointments as "undefined". With xnews - it displays fine on my terminal - but before it starts up it gives me this error : *** OI_glyph::OI_glyph: Error, constructor for object failed *** oi_create_glyph: Error, constructor for object failed *** OI_d_tech::associate: Error, constructor for object failed *** OI_d_tech::set_associated_object: Error, constructor for object failed And in the window lists the correct newsgroups that I subscribe to but all with 0 unread articles, when there are quite a few articles that I have yet to read.
