[comp.windows.x] TeXx can't find GF fonts

I'm trying to run the texx which is supplied with X11R3.  Everything seems
to run fine except that it can't find the fonts.  The directories in the 
fontdesc file are correct.  What seems to be happening (judging from the
scaling factors) is that texx is looking for PXL fonts.  Can anyone help
me with this?
