[comp.windows.x] printing

Though the headers says printing, I really have two questions:

	1) The docs I have say vertical fonts are not supported
	   in the current version of X; is this really the case? (I'm
  	   running X on a Motorola Workstation, and I'm sorry but the
	   relevant versaion numbers aren't available right now.)
           If this is the case, are there any third (second) party 
	   packages that will provide this feature?

	2) Is there any easy way to create a graphic print file? (i.e. a 
	   screen dump of some sort, to a dot matrix, ala epson?) If not,
	   then I ask the same question about third party stuff as above.

(Obviously I'm new to X, so please don't flame with RTFM and the like. I'm
reading all the while! :-))
