The xlock screen locking program for X-10 allows you to lock your workstation so that only you can unlock it with a password. I would like a version that has an option which allows someone else to log you out, like the lockscreen program for suntools. Does anyone have such a version, or know where I can get one? The point is that the ws is a resource I share with others in my office; I shouldn't lock it with no way for others to use it. On the other hand, I don't want anyone else to by able to type commands as me. So, I want a lockscreen which allows either me to unlock it, or anyone else to log me off of the ws without being able to type commands as me. I don't normally read these newsgroups, so please reply by e-mail to me at harry@ucbarpa.berkeley.edu (or ...!ucbvax!ucbarpa!harry). Thanks. Harry

It seems to me that it might not be too hard to add this functionality to the screen-locking code in awm. I haven't had the time to dredge into it. Does this seem like a feasible thing to do? We need this capability as well (equivalent to the suntools "lockscreen -e"). Our normal mode of operation is to login to a workstation and stay logged on for weeks at a time, locking the screen up at night or when out of the office. However, at certain times of the year, we have a lot of visiting scientists who need to use the workstations when the regular staff is not on them. An "exit" option sure would be a big help.
