While switching my IBM RT from 4.3 BSD to AIX, I found a problem with the X-Windows that IBM supports. I wish to use the Xfonts that are supplied with X11R3, but their filenames are larger than the SYSV maximum lengths. There is the same problem with some of the include files, making porting very hard. Has anyone experienced this problem and found a solution, besides renaming the files? Thanks for any information you can relate. -- --Brett S Bourbin, Instructional Computing Programs -- Univ of Maryland Computer Science Center, College Park, MD 20742 INTERNET: brett@umd5.umd.edu BIX: brettb DELPHI: brettb

It seems to me that the fontname is long: -Bitstream-Charter-Bold-R-Normal--8-80-75-75-P-50-ISO8859-1 but not the filename: charB08.bdf IBM RT with AIX works fine for me.
