Addendum/Correction to the previous note announcing NCSA X Image and NCSA X DataSlice. >NCSA (National Center for Supercomputing Applications) will soon be releasing >2 scientific visualization tools: NCSA X ImageView, a 2d raster imaging tool >and NCSA X DataSlice, a 3d scientific data volumetric tool. The official >release date of both tools is June 1st, but beta copies are available for >anyone who might be interested. Both programs are written in X-Windows and NCSA X Image and NCSA X DataSlice will be available for beta testing June 1st. It will be available in Sun 3 and Tek 4319 executable form at that time. One will be able to obtain a beta copy via anonymous ftp from ftp.ncsa.uiuc.edu (128.174.20.50). Release of source code is planned towards the end of summer. We are testing the products on machines/X servers that we have available here which include Sun 3's, Apple Mac II's (A/UX), SGI, Tektronix 4319, IBM RT (AOS 4.3). These tools will be demonstrated at Xhibition '89 in a seminar entitled Scientific Visualization in X Windows.
