yakker@charity.ucr.edu (The Rastafari Yakker) (05/23/89)
We have just completed the compilation of the X10.4 Windows sources
with upgrades to follow. There were a few questions that I had regarding
the actual 'make install'ation that we are about to perform:
1) When we tried to modify the Makefile to allow for the testing
of the program we had compiled, the Xsun program was looking for
a database in /usr/new/rgb. Would that be a factor in the
window loading up (Such as dimensions, colors, size, etc.?)
2) We are running this off of a Sun 3/50, which gave us very few errors
on the 'make all' command, but when we tried to run the Xsun program
in /tmp/test/X/servers/Xsun, the application didn't load properly,
loading only 4 inches of the left side of the screen and a dot mouse
cursor, which made us reboot each time we tried to start it. Is
there a specific reason for this, and if so, what are some appropriate
measures to take to fix this problem?
Thanks for your time and cooperation.
