1. What window managers are available, besides uwm and awm? I much prefer awm to uwm; I hate having to bring up a menu to do anything, but I've seen a lot of references to twm and might want to give it a shot. 2. When installing awm, reference was made to RTL. What is it, and where can I get it? 3. Can anyone explain why xterm would mung-up su and ftp during the passwording phase? When I run either under an xterm on one of our Pyramids they don't give me a chance to type a password in. (I'm running X11R3 patchlevel 10) 4. Does anyone have the sources to xps with all the patches installed? I tried patching it myself, but it rejected a zillion patches and I don't have time to do it by hand. 5. Is there any better way than running `strings' on the binary to find out what resources a client supports? 6. The twm.Xdefaults supplied with awm refer to two fonts, vtsingle and fg-22, that I don't seem to have. Are they available, and are they worth getting? Thanks in advance for all replies. -Dave (dsill@relay.nswc.navy.mil)

Concerning the problem ftp'ing and su'ing from within xterm, David Battle (battle@utkcs2.cs.utk.edu) suggested ensuring that xterm was setuid root, which it was. He also suggested rlogin'ing from within xterm to the same machine xterm was running on, i.e., "rlogin `hostname`" in the offending xterm. This did the trick. -Dave (dsill@relay.nswc.navy.mil)
