Question: I have a need to implement a dual server X under X11R2 (soon to go to R4, I think). To do this, it is time to decide whether one of three methods will work. Method 1: (Really a question) Does X have a designed in method of doing this or are there conventions in doing this? X will run on an AT&T pc (i386). If so, what are the conventions or is the definition in "X Window System" by S, G, and N? Method 2: Barring method 1, is it better to build one BIG MASSIVE super server program with its dependency on hw but possibly very fast. Method 3: Build a meta-server that looks like a server to the clients and a client to the server(s). Flexible but possibly slow since another set of streams must be built. Hmm. How do we do this? Suggestions, real world tips, good and bad experiences, etc will be appreciated both now (in advance) and when I am deep inside a debug. Please mail 'em and I will summarize the info contained therein. Have a good one. -- ========================================================== Michael Miller Key Systems Engineering Corp. uunet!keysec!mike 4404 Cavalcade Ct. 1-301-731-7310 Burtonsville, MD. 20866
