I've had a proposal for a book on Xlib programming from FORTRAN. Now it seems to me that interest in the general community of current X developers is likely to be minimal, but that there may in fact be an interest somewhere out there from scientific programmers who currently use FORTRAN, have heard about X, and would like to do something with it without learning C. Does anyone know what companies (other than IBM or DEC) is supporting a FORTRAN binding to Xlib? Does anyone have any ideas about who I could talk to in order to figure out if this project is worth undertaking? I'd appreciate hearing from anyone from DEC or IBM (or others) with a sense of this market. Please reply by mail unless you think your response is of interest to the X community at large. Thanks. -- Tim O'Reilly (617) 354-5800 or (800) 338-NUTS O'Reilly & Associates, Inc., Publishers of Nutshell Handbooks 90 Sherman Street, Cambridge, MA 02140 UUCP: uunet!ora!tim ARPA: tim@ora.uu.net
