[comp.windows.x] Problem with X11R3 on Apollo DN3500

kern@cadlab.UUCP (Thomas Kern) (06/05/89)

After solving the well known problems with 'Imake' and the
strange behaviour of Apollo's C-Preprocessor, I finally
succeeded in installing X11R3 on our Apollo DN3000 and DN3500
machines under DOMAIN/IX SR 9.7.
With the monochrome DN3000 machines everything works fine,
but the following problem occurs with the DN3500s:

When pixmaps are mapped to the screen, their images look
very strange. It seems that the height of an image is correct,
but the width isn't. The images are damaged and tend to have a
bunch of vertical stripes of various widths randomly drawn over the
top of them. I think this might be a X-Server problem with copying
pixmaps to a screen with more than one plane. Did anybody fix
the problem? Did I do something wrong during the installation?

Thanks in advance

Thomas
