[comp.windows.x] X windows initialization

yakker@ucrmath.ucr.edu (The Rastafari Yakker) (06/07/89)

Our school has been running under Sun OS 4.0.1 (??) for some time now,
and we have been using Suntools and Sunview on our 3/50's and 3/60's.
Since I am so used to using .rootmenu and .sunview for my startup
menus and screen initializations, can anyone tell me if there is a way
to do this in Xwindows? Our system is designed right now to start up
using xinit, and from there opening up the X server. Since the manual
pages are being fixed at present, and there is no way to read anything
on this topic, can some kind soul please direct me in the right path?
I would really appreciate it, since I am getting tired of having to
open up all of those materials constantly in order to have what I want
on the screen.
