[comp.windows.x] Is uunet.uu.net broken?

I know this is a strange place to post this, please forgive me.

I ftp X stuff from uunet.uu.net, but lately I get a message from ftp
that says a connection cannot be made from uunet to me at ua1vm.ua.edu.
My user service people say the problem is at uunet, and that I should
contact them directly.  But I really don't know how. If anyone at uunet.uu.net
is listening, could you please write me directly?  All help appreciated.
