[comp.windows.x] X on a Sun 4/110

This is a last ditch effort to try and figure out why I can't
get X up and running on my Sun 4/110. I've been using X for over a year
on my main machine a Sun 3/260 without any troubles at all.
I'm using the standard relase 11R3 from Mit. After reading all
of the README etc files I set the OS version in the Imake files and set
the installation on its way. No errors occur during the the compilation
process. Unfortunately when trying to invoke the server I get the
stipple on the screen but the login xterm never appears, and the server
dies almost immediately. No error message usually occurs, but sometimes
it returnes "termtype = -1 Unsupported device" (or something like that).
I've tried and checked all of the protections and things mentioned in
the installation guide about things that might cause the login term to
die. I tried exactly the same installation procedure on the Sun 3 as I
used on the Sun 4 and it worked (and still works!!) fine.
Hopefully, someone else may have had a similar problem which
someone knows how to fix. If anyone has any suggestions or
recommendations which might fix this problem they would be much
appreciated. Thanks in advance....

I have got X11R3 running on a Sun 4/110 under 0S 4.0.1 so it is possible.

The only unresolved problem that I have is that I can't get xedit to
work (it crashes whn invoked).
