From: Jon Crowcroft <J.Crowcroft@uk.ac.ucl.cs> my model (and the way my hack of this works) is to actually think about a multicast version of the X Protocol - not actually having an (installed) multicast TCP or VMTP or whatever, i did what someone else has suggested, which is to catch events in one process and cast the about to all other processes (clients on this or any other server...) registered with the conference - this would seem a nice candidate for an add on to the X-protocol itself so any and all applications can replicate their converstations on more than one display with no change i.e. xwhatever -display hostgroup:displaygroup would just change the addresses used, then given someones reliable one to many multicast transport, you'd get all this for free - just a thought jon
